about me
I am a chartered clinical psychologist with a passion for working with 'complex' people and systems.
Having worked with a hugely diverse range of people and problems, I am acutely aware of the universal and primal importance of relationships, the pervasive legacy of trauma, and of our remarkable human capacity to adapt and survive.
I have a special interest in groups fuelled initially by a fascination with the interplay between conscious and unconscious processes within and between people. Over time I came also to learn the powerful therapeutic potential of belonging to and working in a group.
At work, I am particularly interested in how we manage power and vulnerability, and in developing compassionate, inclusive, and truly effective leaders and organisations. As a consultant, I work to support and empower staff at all levels of the system, through building awareness of individual and organisational processes, and developing resources and resilience within contexts of crisis and adversity.
I bring warmth, passion, humour, creativity, and a good deal of challenge to all of my work. In essence, I bring a lot of myself, guided by years of research showing unequivocally that human beings thrive in authentic and compassionate relationships.
Having lived and worked on different continents, I am deeply aware of the profound impact of social and political context - of power, privilege, and difference.
I continue to learn, to be surprised, moved, and inspired by the extraordinary people with whom I work.
